SHOWCASING BBCSU GIRL SCOUTS

Singing Sundae

A longtime tradition in the Bluebonnet Circle Service Unit, older girls teach younger and new Girl Scouts camp songs. The payoff for their hard work is ice cream sundaes for everyone!

A new addition this year was a showcase of Take Action, Bronze, Silver and Gold projects to inspire attendees to new heights.

Thanks to everyone who brought diapers, the Austin Diaper Bank was very appreciative! And big thanks to Troop 40 for putting on a great event!

Fall SU Campouts Were A Blast

Daisies, Brownies and Juniors at Camp Champions had a fun-filled, non-stop weekend of fishing, reptile handling, farm animal petting, kayaking, climbing and all-around adventuring.

The following weekend, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors attended the Monster Mash - themed campout at Rock n River and had a screaming-good time.

Upload your Camp Champions pictures here and Monster Mash pictures here and we'll showcase them in the new year.

Galveston and Volunteering

Troop 41104 participated in RECA’s Christmas in October benefitting Austin Wildlife Rescue.  AWR rehabilitates and releases orphaned, injured, and sick wild animals and educates the public to coexist with wildlife. The girls spent about half a day doing onsite clean up, cleaning the exterior of the building, and sorting blankets for the animals.  The overall impact of the Christmas in October Event for AWR was amazing and made a huge impact for this non-profit.

In November our troop took advantage of a 3 day weekend and headed to Port Aransas.  For some girls, this was their first time at a Texas beach.  One of our highlights was visiting the Birding Center in Port Aransas and seeing a Flamingo that is not native to Texas.  We also sent time discussing our Silver Award projects and coming up with plans for the year.

Junior Fall Frenzy was Fantastic

Troop 2028 hosted a Junior Fall Frenzy at the Georgetown Girl Scout House. Troops 134 and 1095 earned FOUR badges! Highlights include a muffin bake off competition, making music with custom created maracas, taking pictures of the outdoors, and playing a detective scavenger hunt. Thanks to everyone who came out. We loved playing and learning together!

Holiday Caroling

Brownie Troop 691 and Daisy Troop 786 went to Juniper Village at Spicewood Summitt on December 14th. The girls sang carols, then visited with the residents gifting treats, ornaments and cards to spread holiday cheer. Register here to participate December 21.

2025 Cookie Updates

We're so excited to have so many troops selling cookies this year. Initial orders have been submitted! Mark your calendar.

January 9th - Cookie Booth Training, Q&A & Draft for Priority Booths

Initial booths will be chosen by draft at the Service Unit Meeting. If you are selling cookies, please make sure someone from your troop attends! The Service Unit Meeting is at 7pm at St. Matt’s (4121 Steck Ave, Austin, TX 78759). More information on how the draft will work can be found here.

DAISIES come to the meeting and get your cookie questions answered; no need to stay for the draft, your booths are later in the season with cookie captains.

January 11th - Mega Drop (Volunteers Needed!)

Mega Drop is the day all troops pick up initial orders. Please check with your Troop Cookie Team to make sure you have enough vehicles for your appointment! Our Service Unit needs at least 8 volunteers per shift plus 2 all-day volunteers. Any GSCTX registered volunteer can sign up. Volunteering for Mega Drop earns your troop an extra ticket for the Cookie Booth Draft. Deadline to sign up is January 5th. Location is the Ward Warehouse at 2251 Picadilly Dr. Suite A100, Round Rock, TX 78664.

January 15 - Cookie Sales Begin

Remember, no presales and no posting on social media other than your own personal pages - this includes neighborhood pages or social groups on Facebook or Next Door. Pro Tip: Get your website set up ASAP and post it on your own personal social media page. It's a great way to let everyone know your household is selling!

Operation Cookie Pack - March 8th

This GSCTX event builds care packages for military troops using the troop-to-troop cookie donations. It usually fills up quickly, so if you're interested, sign up today!
